Domain expiry checker

Public RDAP snapshot of registry expiration when published — plus registration status. Expiry is not the same as available. If the name is taken, watch it free on Vacato through grace, redemption, and pending delete. We do not register names for you.

Results via public RDAP — not full WHOIS, not a guarantee of registrability. For continuous monitoring, use Vacato (free · 10 domains · no card).

Domain expiry checker FAQ

Is this a full WHOIS lookup?
No. This tool runs a public RDAP lookup and surfaces the registry expiration date when the server publishes one. It is not a port-43 WHOIS dump and does not invent dates when RDAP omits them.
Does an expiry date mean the domain is available?
No. Expiry is a calendar field. After expiry, most names enter grace, redemption, then pending delete before they can return to the pool. Watch the name through that window — do not treat the date alone as a buy signal.
What if RDAP does not return an expiry date?
Some registries omit expiration events in public RDAP. We show status (registered, redemption, pending delete, available) honestly and still let you add the name to a Vacato watchlist for recurring checks.
How do I get alerts when an expiring domain becomes registrable?
Add it to Vacato (free for 10 domains). We re-check RDAP on a schedule and alert via email, push, or Telegram when status flips. Vacato monitors and alerts — it does not drop-catch or register names.
How is this different from the availability checker?
The availability checker answers registered vs available. This page emphasizes expiry timing and the watch CTA for taken names. Both use the same public RDAP path.
What happens after a domain expires?
Typical gTLD path: expiry → grace (renew at registrar) → redemption (higher fee) → pending delete → available. Timelines vary by TLD and registrar. Vacato watches status flips; it does not renew or catch for you.
