FAQ
Is the checker a drop-catcher?
No. It is a live RDAP lookup. Add taken names to a watchlist for repeated checks.
Can I check many domains at once?
Yes. Use the bulk checker (/tools/domain-bulk) for up to 25 names per run, then watch taken ones free (10 on Free).
Can I watch a taken domain after I check it?
Yes. Add it to a Vacato watchlist (free for 20 names). The checker is a snapshot; the watchlist is the loop.
What is the Watch with Vacato bookmarklet?
A drag-to-bookmarks javascript: link that opens Vacato auth for the current page hostname (utm_source=bookmarklet). No browser extension. See /tools/bookmarklet.
Can I embed a Vacato badge on my site?
Yes. Paste static HTML (or a tiny optional script) from /embed or /tools#embed. Links to /d/{domain} or the free checker with utm_source=embed. No tracking cookies.
Do you show full WHOIS?
No. Tools use public RDAP. The expiry checker surfaces registry expiration when the server publishes it — it does not invent dates or scrape port-43 WHOIS.
